Presenting Charon Hill
Charon Hill is a Philly born singer songwriter.
Born to a singer and musician her love for music came at an early age. Expressed through church musicals and school plays she’s never shy’d away from a spotlight . The grand daughter of famed gospel singer Johnnie Jones (Augusta, Ga native) member of the Legendary Swanee Quintet and great great niece of late famed comedian Jackie “Moms” Mabley , music and stage are bedded in her DNA. Charon found her love for music at age 8 upon receiving the gift of a Whitney Huston cassette tape for Christmas. It was Whitney’s rendition of “The Stars Spangled Banner” that she would use during her first public performance at age 11. In the years to come she would grace the stage as a member of several professional wedding bands and try her hand at theater, acting in several stage plays with D. Wiggins Productions . Ultimately leading to a term as a background vocalist for popular Philadelphia vocalist Miss Vivian Green. Charon has recently released her very first single “We the people” independently early May 2017. The song is a call to action for all that listen. The record has a 70’s funk feel with a heart felt well written social message. Undoubtedly a full project is soon to follow!
